COWD Assures Solution To Water Woes In Gusa

THE management of the Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) assured the City Council committee on urban and rural poor chaired by Councilor Alexander Dacer that something is being done about the water problems in Gusa.

At the meeting this week, COWD’s Engr. Bienvenido Batar said the utility firm is ready to implement the extension of its mainline from Galaxy road to the area requested by the Gusa Small Valley Landless Association Inc.He said this is one of the projects identified by the mayor from the P6-million allocation of the COWD for water system projects pinpointed by the city government.The extension of the pipes to the area will cost P540,000, according to Batar, adding that the necessary bidding takes place this month.He said the actual implementation will take place in about a month or so after the materials shall have been delivered.
