Tourism Body Backs Tourist Resort At Isla De Oro

AFTER conducting an ocular inspection of the site, the City Council committee on tourism chaired by Councilor Aldan Bacal on Friday supported the establishment of a resort at Isla de Oro and its declaration as another tourist spot in the city.

The committee endorsed to the City Planning and Development Office and the City Tourism Office the perspective of the proposed resort.Councilor Bacal said this will be the first of its kind in the city. The Power learned that some tourists have already visited the site. Councilor Bacal is optimistic that it would draw in more local and foreign tourists.Councilor Bacal, however, said this will be subject to the approval of the mayor."We are in favor but the chief executive will have the final say," he added.The councilor noted that the mayor is intending to construct a boulevard, which will affect a portion of the area.Councilors Ian Mark Nacaya, Caesar Ian Acenas and Dante Pajo, together with City Tourism Officer Imma Rae Gatuslao, CLENRO’s Ben Salvador and CPDO chief Estrella Sagaral were among those who joined the ocular inspection.
