Nag joined ko with KAGAYANon.net a month ago or two pro medyo buzy so kron rako naka post. It's cool to have an online forum for web surfers and people from different sectors that access the world wide web who are residents of this city and non-resident alike. Ask lang ko what agency(Dept.) in our Local Governement Unit to file a complaint? Salamat.

What do you mean by na-overcharge/overpriced? Could you please carefully explain:

1) How much did you pay before and to whom
2) How much are they charging for right now
3) Have you compared your charges to other people's charges

I would assume that this is standard operating procedure for insurance companies, when they modify their plans according to the market forces. From what I know, sa United Kingdom, mas grabe pa magcharge for insurance depending sa kotse/motor. And it will change each year. This will depend on their implementing rules and regulations.

Also, may governing body man ang insurance agencies to regulate and control and insure that these agencies aren't just charging you for something.

You could just ask LTO directly why you got those kinds of charges, and how much should it normally be.

I agree with ner0, pwede ka ask LTO para kung maprove na over-priced jud para matanggalan na sila ug accreditation ug di na sila kabiktima ug lain.

BTW, gusto lang nako e emphasize na dli pani confirmed na over-charge that is why I am asking for an idea unsa office or branch sa ato LGU mu handle ug complaint, if not verify, when it comes to insurance policy.

To give an overview, ang requirements for renewal of registration for motorcycle are:
1. Insurance, also known as TPL (issued by third-party, meaning not from LTO)
2. Smoke Test (issued by third-party)
3. Motorcycle (of course, kay undergo man physical checkup thru LTO personnel)

Below are the data or breakdown of fees charge for insurance (current versus last year):

Insurance Company A (previous year)
1. Date Issued: October 3, 2007
2. Limit of Liability: 100,000 Php
Fees Breakdown
3. Premiums - 181.55
Documentary Stamps - 22.69
Value Added Tax - 21.79
Local Gov't Tax - 1.35
Total - 227.39

Insurance Company B (current)
1. Date Issued: September 3, 2008
2. Limit of Liability: 100,000 Php
Fees Breakdown
3. Premiums - 300.00
Municipal Tax - 370.00
Total - 570.00

Note:
a) Company A is different entity from Company B.
b) In company B, wala na gi detail ang Tax, mas dako ang tax compared sa premium.
c) In my opinion bloated or gi jack-apan (in layman's term) ang fees made by Company B.

May I know what governing body that regulate insurance agencies?

Thanks sa opinion, but reasonable ba na ang 250% rate of increase from 227.39 to 570.00? ok lang cguro 350.00 or lower akong nabayran sa kron na year, madala ra piyungan though I am open for the possibility na in-ana na ka worst ato enconomy.
